Students study world cultures, art history, and a variety of art forms, and techniques. They explore mediums of clay, paint, sculpture, and drawing through a variety of lessons in artistic expression and creative activities. Student artwork is proudly displayed throughout the campus and at times is entered into area competitions. Art is offered as part of the regular elementary curriculum and as an elective for grades 6 – 8.
Students gain a basic knowledge of music, dance, and movement with the opportunity to perform in a variety of student presentations. Music is offered as an integral part of the Kindergarten through 5th-grade curriculum. Music is also offered as a Middle School elective.
P.E. is offered as part of the Kindergarten through 5th-grade curriculum and is offered as a Middle School elective.
The student will be introduced to the sound system and grammatical structure of the Spanish language. The focus will be on developing skills in the areas of listening, speaking, basic reading, and writing. By the end of the session, the student will have a basic understanding of grammar, including word formation, verb conjugation, idiomatic expressions, and cognates. Students will also acquire a knowledge of the geography, culture, and people of the regions where Spanish is spoken and of Spanish-speaker's contributions to North American and world cultures.
