Our full-day Early Childhood Program offers classes that are designed to create self-motivated, responsible learners within a developmentally appropriate curriculum. The program’s goal is to instill a love for lifelong learning in each child. It is a program that enhances the spiritual, social, intellectual, and physical development of each child, by providing hands-on purposeful, and meaningful learning activities that allow the child an opportunity to explore and learn at their own pace.
Grades PK 3 - Kindergarten participates in learning activities that develop literacy and oral language. Children participate in daily “circle time” including opening prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. There are multiple basic learning stations including dramatic play, blocks, library/technology, math, language arts, science, listening center, and art. Each day, the children work in small groups with the teacher at the lesson table.
The program encourages parental involvement and communication. To foster a partnership between parents and teachers, parents are encouraged to participate in ongoing activities within the established routines, special events, field trips, and parties. A weekly folder is sent home with students once a week (date determined by teacher) to inform parents of the upcoming week’s activities and objectives.
We recognize that the primary educators of our children are the parents. We recognize that excellent communication between home and school is essential for continuity between home and school. There is daily conduct and homework is sent home each day to inform parents. Parents also receive a monthly newsletter.
Students have a daily religion lesson during which Catholic values and beliefs are taught. The program helps to teach the children the following Sunday’s Gospel reading in an age-appropriate language. Gospel teachings are also reinforced through activities and focus themes.
Students also participate in age-appropriate lessons focused on God's love for each of them. We wish for each child to recognize that he/she is a masterpiece created by God and that as such they are a contributing force in their classroom and school community. Students open and close each school day with prayer and attend an all-school weekly Mass.
